Direct Works Group

Draft for DWG review. Highlighted details are still to be confirmed.

Terms of use

Last updated 2 November 2026

These terms apply to everyone who uses the DWG member app, provided by Direct Works Group Limited ("DWG"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15310052) whose registered office is 86 Easton Road, Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire, YO16 4DB. By registering or signing in you agree to them. They sit alongside your organisation's membership agreement with DWG; if the two conflict, the membership agreement wins. How we use personal data is explained in our privacy notice.

1. Your account

  • Accounts are for people at DWG member organisations, Industry Partners, DWG staff and board, and approved suppliers. Your access depends on your organisation's membership.
  • One account per person. Keep your password private and don't share your account.
  • Tell us or your organisation's administrator if you leave your organisation, so your access can be removed.

2. Code of conduct

DWG is a professional network. When you message, post, ask questions or give feedback, please:

  • Be courteous and professional. No harassment, bullying, threats or personal attacks.
  • No offensive or discriminatory language. The app blocks swearing and discriminatory terms automatically; trying to get round the filter is a breach of these terms.
  • No tenants' or residents' personal information. Never share names, addresses or details that could identify a tenant or resident. Describe situations in general terms.
  • Respect confidentiality. Treat landlord-only discussions and anything shared in confidence accordingly. Don't share screenshots of private messages without permission.
  • No unsolicited selling. Industry Partners and suppliers must not use messaging or the community for cold sales. Partners can reply when a member contacts them.
  • Respect speakers and copyright. Check with the speaker before photographing slides; photos and notes in My notes are for your own use, not for publishing.
  • Be accurate. Don't post anything you know to be false or misleading, or impersonate anyone.

3. Reporting, moderation and suspension

  • You can block anyone and report any message. DWG reviews reported messages and can see only the message reported.
  • Questions in some community spaces are checked by DWG before they appear. DWG may remove posts that break these terms.
  • DWG may suspend or remove access for serious or repeated breaches, and will usually tell your organisation's administrator.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You allow DWG to store and display it in the app to provide the service, for as long as it's kept under our privacy notice. You're responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to share it.

5. Events

Bookings, included places, charges and cancellations follow each event's terms shown in the app and your organisation's membership. Names, job titles and organisations of confirmed delegates may appear on the event's "Who's going" list; anyone can hide themselves.

6. Solution Finder and Industry Partners

Supplier listings are paid and supplied by the suppliers. DWG reviews them for suitability but doesn't endorse or recommend any supplier, and paying never changes where a supplier appears. Do your own checks before buying anything.

7. The app

  • The app is developed continually: features are added, changed or retired as we learn what members need.
  • We aim to keep it available and secure but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Information in updates, the library and community posts is general guidance, not professional or legal advice.

8. Liability

[Liability wording to be confirmed by DWG's adviser.] Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about significant changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: use Feedback about the app or email [contact email].
